The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education hosted a key event April 3 to further its mission of promoting access, affordability, and excellence in the state higher education system.
The South Carolina State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) Forum and the Institutional Leadership Forum were held concurrently at the Brookland Banquet and Conference Center in West Columbia.

CHE President and Executive Director Dr. Jeff Perez delivered a warm and engaging welcome address to the audience of more than 100 educational leaders, setting the tone for the event and helping create an atmosphere of excitement.
"This event was an opportunity for higher education leaders to come together, collaborate, and explore innovative ways to expand access and affordability for South Carolina students," said Dr. Argentini Anderson, assistant director of the Office of Academic Affairs and Licensing at the CHE. "By sharing insights and best practices, we strengthen our institutions and ensure that higher education remains a driving force for workforce development and economic growth in our state. We are grateful for the support of NC-SARA in making this important event possible."
The groups engaged in strategy planning sessions focused on innovative initiatives in areas such as apprenticeships and other pathways to adult education.
The forum was also a valuable opportunity for the leaders to exchange ideas, share insights, learn about best practices, and discuss the latest trends and developments in higher education and distance learning.
The event was supported by a grant from the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).
