Tropical Storm Debby Higher Education Closures and Delays

Hurricane Debby made landfall in Florida on Monday and is expected to produce heavy rainfall and flooding in South Carolina as it passes through this week. In response, Governor Henry McMaster issued Executive Order 2024-16 declaring a State of Emergency in preparation for the potential effects of the storm. The executive order activated the South Carolina Emergency Operations Plan and enables all state agencies to coordinate resources in preparation for Hurricane Debby.

We will update the information below throughout the week to reflect all closings and delays reported to us from public institutions of higher education in South Carolina.

If you are a student, faculty or staff, please verify any closure information directly with your institution.
